Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the Aerostar section. Does this only happen when it's cold or all of the time (even after driving for a while with the van off for a few minutes)? Did you ever clean the mass air flow sensor, idle air control solenoid or replace the fuel filter?

Good chance that the torque converter lock-up is stuck in the locked up position; happened to a '92 A4LD I owned.
