Brake light issues..brake control module?

Hi all,

I have another little issue which could be becoming a little larger if not looked at.

Firstly, my parking brake light on the instrument panel has never worked since I purchased the 98 explorer sport sohc last year. I thought it must have been the bulb so didn't give it much thought (I need to replace a couple of other bulbs in my dash so have put it off). However I noticed the little bugger on last night after I got it back from the repair shop. It remained on when the vehicle was parked and the engine off (albeit a little dim), but went out when the vehicle started. This morning the battery was completely drained and had to jump start the vehicle.

I took it back to the shop figuring it was something they perhaps did by accident whilst it was being repaired. After a little play, they diagnosed the problem as being the brake control module which was likely to be either playing up or on it's way up. Question...does this sound about right and if so, any instruction, diagrams on how to get access and replace / clean the connectors.

On another note, my full beam/ half beam light on my dash also doesn't work..hopefully a bulb? Or could it also be something else?

thanks in advance
