Looking for help taking off my driver door panel on my 2006 explorer to replace the speaker

No time to upload pictures right now. I will do it soon but here you go. On the bottom of the door there are two screws that are visible (one on rear door if you are working on it). Remove screws. Next on the door pull handle the cover will pull off. Just pull it with your fingers and it will pop off. Remove two screws under door pull handle. Next is the trim around the door release and window switches. Start by pulling off the side trim not the trim the window switches are in. Pull it on the side towards the rear of the door not on the round part that is by the door release. Again, just use your hands, no prying necessary. Two more screws hidden under this piece of trim. Then pull up on the trim around the window switches and once lifted unplug all the switches. Now lift up on the door panel not pull out but lift up. Same direction as if you were closing your window. At this point unplug the wiring harness for the power mirrors if you have them. Next, squeeze the locking tabs on the door cable. Pull and release the cable from the door panel and rotate it and unplug it from your handle. Now the door panel is completely free of the door. Now is also a good time to use the magic erasure and clean your door panel. But before you do that make sure to remove the power mirror switch. You should have no problem removing it in less time than it took me to type this.

Well, I know it's 3 years later but searching the internet I didn't find anything real definitive on this topic so I have a couple of pictures that I know will help.
These two items need to come off of the panel in order for you to access the bolts that hold the panel on.
Tools you need:
8mm socket, larger flat screwdriver and maybe a chisel for a flat edge. (if removing speakers, also a 6mm socket.)
The clips on the panels that cover the handle are tough to get loose. Pry with a chisel or large flat driver close to the clips.

If you look at the inside of the panel, you'll see the hooks. Once all 4 bolts are removed, you'll find that it's pretty easy to lift.

Thanks, that was a big help. My old explorer had those nylon snaps, so I was expecting the same, never realizing I needed to lift up rather than pull out.
