instead of that color, try a shade of NEON Orange, or the like, but why orange?

I was thinking of Fireball actually. The real fix for the windows is pretty simple just time consming. You just unbolt it then replace the Butly tape on the inside and it's good. I just don't have the time to do it.

I don't want it to stand out that much with a Neon. I was going for a color similar to the newer Explorers. As for why I don't know I just like Orange and it looks pretty good to me.

That's cool not everyone will like it. But as long as I do that is all that matters.

Finally got the Courage.

First off I just want to give a big thanks to this site it gave me the courage to tackle my first real mechanical feat.

Today I drained and refilled the Transfer case with Synthetic ATF. Before I found this site I would have never tried this or know how to go about it.

Also while I was feeling courageous I did my first oil change on our 89 Ranger that used to be my DD. It was so simple IDK why I have been paying someone to do this. The hardest part was the oil filter but once I got a filter wrench it came write off.
Here's the truck after havin some fun in a couple mud puddles the day before.
That mud is still underneath that was over 3 months ago!

Next project is I picked up some screen material to go behind the grill to keep rocks out of the Rad. Hopefully will finish that tomorrow and get some pics up/

Once again a big THANK YOU to this sits.

Well on Sunday I added some style to my grill and protection to my Radiator with some Gutter Guards.

Here's the How-To I wrote on it. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/...d.php?t=293342

Not sure which I like better but it will be a looooong time before I paint it.
I just had a way better Idea I'll paint it like the General Lee. and get a horn that plays Dixie. Now that will be different!

Ok so I've had my Explorer for a while now and love everything about it except the horrid gray trim on the bumper and side.

Now I was wondering if i could paint it with a darker gray bumper paint and what prep I would need to do?

I was bored so here's it Photoshopped kinda how I would like it to look.

Orig

Dark Gray

and a third Black

Which do yall think looks best?

Edit: Not sue why th first is small than the rest but you get the idea.

I would match the sheen and shade of the pillar trims... Maybe paint them all at the same time...

That was my plan. What paint would you suggest and what prep work would I need to do?

Check you other thread... The SEM product is very good, as well as the wax and grease remover.

This may be stupid but what are the deflectors?
And do you think the Duplicolor trim paint would work cause I can get it locally at a decent price?

If anything paint the trim white , other then that both dark grey and black do not look good. There's a reason the trim on the cheaper models are black , because it's cheaper to make. if you paint it body color white it'll make the car look less cluttered and therefor better/cleaner.

And off topic but put your fog lamps back in as well , because as of right now there's just two holes in your bumper where it looks like somthings obviously missing.

I thought about white and I don't think I like it all white I want some kinda of accent on it.

And as to the foglights if they actually worked I'd put them back on but they don't and one was smashed when I got it. A couple post above you can see I filled it with some gutter mesh to match my grill I will install a pair once I get some.

I've started a list in Word of what needs don and what I need. Just gotta have the one thing that make both happen Money. As of now my job is 2hrs away and I only work about 2 times a month.
