looking to replace just my muffler

hey guys, i have a 2007 explorer V8 i'm looking to just replace my muffler.


i noticed other posts for the magnaflow, guys mentioned it was bolt on and bolt off.

i'm wondering if i could bolt off the stock muffler and bolt on a magnaflow.

you would have to buy extra piping, and clamps to make it work...

if you want a bolt on system, your better off getting a Magnaflow or Gibson Cat back Exhaust. much better gains, and sounds really good. low rumble at cruising / idle speeds, but roars when you punch it. sounds sexy lol

I'm in the same boat Deuce

I don't want to spend the money for an entire exhaust system then to have the after market pipe stick out telling everyone I have performance parts. I want it beefed up, without the look of being beefed... until you open the hood.

For the V-8, the best I've heard is a 50 series Flowmaster. You can go to a local muffler shop to have this done for between $100 to $140. They will take off your factory muffler and resonater.

I just got a 35$ thrush welded muffler from autozone put on and I really love the sound and price. After installation it only cost me 100. Its quiet at idle but gives a deep rumble when you give some gas. And its not too loud, no way you'd get a ticket.
