hey guys
i been having a problem with my power window not going up right, getting stuck ,ect, ect.plus i was having the door lock issue on the same door so today i went at it and took pics for you guys.
here we go.....
first off you got to remove the door panel ,it helps if you have one of these.

there are about 4 clips along the bottom and 3 down each side .i started at the bottom.once you get one popped free you can pull the panel away a little and shine a light in there to guide you to the rest.or slide the tool along inside the panel until you reach the next one .
once i had the panel off and the silencer pad removed guess what i found??

thats my window guide.the thing broke free from the door.dont know how but it did.heres a shot of where it broke from

broke the door metal .this thing was laying in the bottom of my door .no wonder my window was messed up .
with this already out the way i used the spring trick to fix my door lock .no pics of that but thats been covered here already.
now to get this thing remounted i had to use my brain a little .i needed a big washer i knew that.i found a door striker bolt i wasnt using and used the washer from that .

it fit the hole good but i had to "dish" it a little so it wouldnt bend the door up .so i grabbed 2 vice grips and went to work on it .

once i dished it enough it was ready to be used.
now exactly where does this guide mount to??i will show you .its up inside the door .the guide has a clip on it so it was pretty easy to see where the top of the guide clipped to .this pic was taken inside the door and it may be upsidedown but you can see the "u" channel that this guide will clip to.

once you get that clipped in you just need line the hole up so you can get the bolt thru.
like so

now dont go tightening it just yet .just snug it up
i went ahead and started running the window up and down .hhmmm its going crooked on me .why???well heres why and you might run into this too.
the glass holder clip is not holding onto the glass.
as seen here

the factory used some silicone product to hold it in but i chose this instead.
By null at 2010-07-08
thats right jb-weld.
i used the wire brush to brush the mount clean and the glass too.you will never see this part of the glass from the top so if you scratch it ,no worries.
i dug the old silicone out that mount with a thin screwdriver befor i brushed it .
i then mixed up equal parts of jb weld.
By null at 2010-07-08
using my thin screwdriver i applied the jb to the mount ,on the top,and on both sides.i also pinched the mount closed with my vise grip befor doing the jb weld .once coated nice i slide the window into the mount like this.

i used my finger to smooth it out some against the glass to make sure it had a good hold .
heres a shot of both repairs.the mount and the broken guide repair.
By null at 2010-07-08
once i had this repair in place i rolled the window up tight ,let the jb set (it sets in 5 minutes)and went and got a drink.
once the jb set i went back and adjusted the guide bolt so the window went up and down real nice .
then i had to replace the silencer pad.i used this to glue it back on .

spray adhesive.
you must remove the door speaker when you take this pad off and replace the speaker after gluing the pad back on .like so

speaker back in place now
By null at 2010-07-08
now i overshot the glue a little so to clean that off i grabbed this out the closet
By null at 2010-07-08
goo gone and a shop rag cleaned it up nicely and i wont have to worry about my door panel sticking to glue residue.
putting the door panel back on is the reversal of removing it .
the finished product.

this took me about 2 hours taking my time ,taking pictures along the way ,and running back n forth into the house for things .i now have a working lock and a working window again .
enjoy!!!
