I need help replacing the radio in my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac.

Can anyone tell me how to pull the old radio out of a Sport Trac? It would help to have a diagram, but just step by step instructions would be great.

Thanks!

Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the audio & navigation section.

Two ways.

1) Obtain radio removal tools and remove:

YouTube Video
If you are able to see this message it means that you don't have flash installed or that the video server is down.

2) Remove bezel (two bolts above the HVAC controls, pull trim with radio straight out), unclip harnesses, and then unclip radio.

If you are able to see this message it means that you don't have flash installed or that the video server is down.

It's painful, you have to pull the grey shell open. It's just held in with some grey plastic holders.

I think it may be as simple as pressing down then pulling out on the metal speaker grill, thus exposing the 4 screws that secure the speaker in place.
