5R55E version question
I've got a bad tranny in my '98 explorer, 4.0 SOHC. A few sites, ebay, car-parts.com, etc., indicate that 98 only can be replaced by a 98. Anybody know if there are any serious issues using another year?
Thanks in advance, Ed |

Welcome to this forum! The 97 & 01 models have extra sensors, but the other versions such as your version don't have the extra sensors.

As I've been searching, it looks like the extra sensor the 97 has can be bypassed?
