HID 8K to 10K
Hey boys
I currently have 8K HID's in my Low's / Fogs, and ordered some 10K lights for my lows, cause my fog lights have a much deeper color then my headlights. now onto the question... since i already have an HID ballast in my X, can i just swap the 8k bulbs for the 10K bulbs ? or do i need to have the new ballasts with the new bulbs ? __________________ DANNY#2 SILVER 05 XLT Stage 2 Intake ~ Exhaust ~ Henson Performance Tunes ~ Luminic's Bulbs ~ Sound System ~ Bull Bar ~ Black Headlight Housings ~ 20% Tint ~ FD Lights/Siren ~ Remote Start |

yes you can just swap bulbs.
If your fogs are a much deeper blue color, that might be a sign they are getting worn out. Why such high temperature bulbs? You know that lower temperatures (around 4300k) offer the most visible light right? |

In response to him going to 10000k... CALDWELL, is... to put it simple. Different. But we love and accept him none-the-less, and especially his Howtos and hints and tips and modifications he's done.

![]() But yeah, you can generally just swap the bulbs. They are all basically just real HID bulbs with a piece added onto them to make them stick into our housings. The connection on the back is generally always the same. |

So, can we expect a "How To" for changing bulbs?

BradR, lol thanks fella
my fogs have always been darker tha my lows, i just figured since the fog light housing is smaller the color is just more concentrated. I just want them to match, and plus i live 3 miles from the South Philadelphia border, and my area is quite populated so the streets are lit up well hahaha. thanks for the help fella's ! __________________ DANNY#2 SILVER 05 XLT Stage 2 Intake ~ Exhaust ~ Henson Performance Tunes ~ Luminic's Bulbs ~ Sound System ~ Bull Bar ~ Black Headlight Housings ~ 20% Tint ~ FD Lights/Siren ~ Remote Start |

aftermarket bulbs don't tend to have a lot of quality control anyways. Different batches of the same color are not always the same color..... I have seen 5000K bulbs that actually lit a much hotter 6000k, and 8000k that were a much cooler 6000k
