passing the explorer over to my mom this weekend because she needs a reliable car and I need something that gets good mpg because I am now driving a 60 mile round trip everyday which adds up to about 480.00 in gas every month

Yeah it does kind of suck but I can't afford the 12 miles per gallon, the $170.00 car payment and the $200.00 insurance... I picked up a one owner 1991 honda civic hatchback with 100,000 miles for $900.00 from a family friend. Ive been averaging 37 miles per gallon and insurance is only $33.00 a month... I don't think ill be missing the explorer very much with all the extra money ill have in my pocket lol. The explorer is going to be lowered to stock for my mom. The nice old man I bought it from put in a new battery, had the oil changed, coil pack, spark plugs, alternator replaced and bought new tires the day before he sold it to me

LOL what a change! If I had to drive a lot, that is exactly what I would be running. The old imports get great mileage.

It stinks that you had to get rid of the explorer, especially after you dumped so much money into mods. How on earth was the insurance $200 a month?

Sucks to lose the ex, but I don't blame you with the price of gas. Not a fan of civic hatches, but damn, that thing looks really clean, and you can't beat the price or the mileage either!

Nice come up for $900! if I had to get a car it would be a honda, and I cant leave any of my cars alone. I would be like hhmmmm I want a b22, coilovers, exhaust, cold air intake, light weight flywheel, and of course look into a super charger. I used to pick up impounded hondas for cheap, fix them up and sell them to the local rice burner kids. I had a CRX I did all those things I mentioned and much more and left the body looking jacked up with this wings west body kit it came with. It was a straight up sleeper, foos in thier burus and beamers are like "look at that piece of OH sh!t" it was awsome.. It sux you had to ditch the EX but times are tuff and you gots to do what you gots to do. Make the best of it and soon enough things will get better and you can swap the civic for your old ex your moms got.

Thanks, I'm leaving this thing alone except for integra gsr seats because the ones that are in it are WAY too small and tinting the windows because im so damn low to the ground now headlights are head level! I don't know if Ill ever get the explorer back but I am definatly going to be looking for a old, cheap 4x4 ranger or explorer to make strictly my wheeler....I can't be explorer-less for too long lol. The wife drives a ranger but it's 2wd so it's no fun!

Sounds like a plan, I will keep my eyes open for a 4x4 project truck and let you know if I stumble upon a deal.

Rollin on 35x12.5 goodyear kevlars now. strait trade my brother in law today. they have about 7,000 miles on them with hardly any tread wear. Had to do some miner trimming in the front surprisingly because these measure a true 35" but all is good now!
