On thing I just found out, it is not even on the Canadian Website but it is on the US one. They actually went out of their way to make different becnh seats for the Leather XLT and the Ltd. Same base leather seats but the XLT does not get the pull down arm rest/cup holder. Not sure why they would have went thorugh the trouble of actually having to make two different kinds of seats.

Is that with or without the crossbars? 100 lbs seems low.

With crossbars. The manual explicitly states that no cargo is to be placed directly on the roof, it should be placed so the cross bars carry the load.

That may be with the Ford cross bars but with the Thule ones I am pretty sure it is rated higher.

How about the bolt pattern for the wheels? Looks like it's still 5x4.5.

The cross-bar loading has to do with raising the vehicle center of gravity and increasing the risk of roll-over (besides the load capability of the components transferring the weight down to the vehicle frame). I'd think the Ford statement would take priority over the Thule load capacity.

Good information. I'm new to the site, and was actually inquiring about the total weight of the 2011 Explorer. I've had Fords all my life..still have an 88 Bronco II that I purchased in 1991, and it's still in great shape. Looking to purchase the 2011 Explorer Limited soon, and wanted to know the weight for tax purposes.

I've seen a curb weight listed at right around 4500 lbs. At this point I can't verify that though.

I've read that a fully loaded Limited is sitting just south of 4700 lbs curb weight. So all other models should go down from here, pending options. Also, it's frequently quoted that the 2011 is 100 lbs less than the 2010 model however trim level isn't given.

Overall Height including antenna

I’m guessing that the height spec of 70.4 inches does not include the roof mounted antenna. Does any know the overall height of the 2011 Explorer Limited including the roof mounted antenna? My garage door clearance is only 77 inches.

17" wheels specs

7.5" width, +40mm offset, 5.82" back spacing, 5x114 lug pattern, 2.5" center hole. Nice thing is these are the same specs for the 2011 Edge 17" wheel, which is an alloy. Also, the 2011 Edge and 2011 Explorer use the same tire pressure monitoring sensors.

Thules standard disclaimer is that you must not exceed the factory rack maximum weight limitation. Probably the same for all rack manufacutrers to avoid liablility problems. 100lbs is very good, equal to my '97.

Does anyone know the weights for the different models?

So far I've seen 4,695 (that ford claims it is... but who knows which model that is for).

And then I've seen 4765 for the XLT 4WD.

What does the XLT FWD weigh?

What does the Base FWD and 4WD weigh

What does the Limited FWD and 4WD weigh

How much weight does the moon roof add or subtract.

Does the trailer package add any weight, if so how much?

Ford talks about weight being a reason for better fuel economy... But something tells me that some of these vehicles weigh more than others..
