Thumbs up StateFarm Guys SAS registry

well guys. after very little debating i have decided to swap my 2nd gen 5.0 AWD explorer. i will be taking many detailed pictures for any other rookies like me thinking to do this. Im going to be on a (SUPER) tight budget so i have decided to keep it simple and go with leafs and war153 shackles front and back (like rjcooperss) for shocks im debating wether or not i want to go with some cheaper ranchos or the monroe sensatracs and to even out the rear im going to be doing a simple $32 SOA (thanks danny boy). went to the junk yard yesterday and picked up a rolling hi-pinion D30 out of a 99 jeep cherokee with a blown motor for hehehe $200 and they are savin me the hassle of pulling it out too.. Thanks Soooo much EXPLORERFORUM!!

What leaf springs are you going with? What size tires? I'd go with some Rancho 44044s. The leafs I ran previously were too soft for the big ol V8 Explorer.

sect not sure on the leafs yet i am searching the junkyard daily i know im gonna have to piece a couple together instead of buying new i think 6-7 leafs should be ok? input.. what leafs you using? and as for tires im not going to go above 35's maybe some general grabbers or something CHEAP, stayin with the stock rims i love the teardrops and they look sweet wth bigger tires

Hey I'm in the same exact boat as you and I'm also on a tight budget but I got my HP D30 for free!!!!! A guy in colgate near me is upgrading to a D44 because it's just a full time mudding truck and I was like yeah I'll take that axle from you... FOR FREE!!!! All the gears in it are brand new, new ball joints, and knuckles. But now I'm stuck as to what else I all need and if I should go with leafs or springs. Whats the pros and cons between the two as far as performance goes? Looking forward to your build.
