Unhappy driver side window??

what do i need to fix when my window will go down when i push the button but won't come back up. the motor will be going but nothing happens. also i can push the window up or down with out using the button. could it be the window motor or regulator? i haven't had time to take the door apart to start digging around in there. plus it's been cold this week and i'd rather know what i should be looking for since i don't have a garage to pull any of my trucks into

I've got the same problem, only my window is firmly against the idea of going back up.

Sounds like the regulator - if the motor is running (you can hear it) and the window doesn't move

Had a similar problem - driver's side power window would only go up to within about 1/4 inch before full closed position. Turns out a few of the teeth on the regulator were worn and the gear wouldn't catch to wind fully up. Bought a complete aftermarket window motor and regulator (came as a "one piece unit"), though you may be able to find each part separately.

Could also be that the regulator is misaligned with the motor and it won't "catch" at all (to start your window going "up").

Problem will only get worse before it gets better if you don't address it
