Started on my HID retrofit on my 2005 Sport Trac. The projectors are the Morimoto Mini H1 kit. These housings fit into the 9007 bulb openings without any cutting. I am going to have to do some creative sealing on the back to seal up the bulb socket, but that shouldn't be too hard.

My 6 year old oem housings are starting to yellow, and I decided to pick up a new set of housings because the OEM glue is very hard to separate. The aftermarket replacement housings came apart easily after a quick bake. Still have to wait and see how accurate the aiming of the aftermarket housings are.. fingers crossed.

Here are a few pictures of the projector mounted to give you an idea of where I'm at on this project. Ill update with some installed pics as soon as I get this project finished!

Now I see what you meant by not having a fit issue for the Apollo shroud... There is no protrusion of the turn signal. Sweet!

Yes, the housings are just big enough to use the Apollo shrouds with no trimming. Also the morimoto mini couldnt be more than a few milimeters longer and it wouldnt fit the housing! its a close fit with the housing lense back on.

Got one headlight aimed and sealed back up, should be able to wrap up the other one this weekend..

should this be moved to the Performance Lighting seciton? I put it here because I didnt find any other sport or sport trac projector retrofits out there..

did you mount the housing back in the truck to aim or just get them close?
comment:
de-burr where the 2 small wires go into the housing (hi/low shroud control ???), and also sheath them, to me it would be a failure point due to rubbing.

yes i put the housings in the truck to get hte horizontal cutoff level. the factory height adjustment should work good for the height, I hope..

Very good site. Thanks for the link!

Well I have the headlights installed and working. I will try to get some night pictures tonight.

One catch with the retrofit source wiring kit I didnt expect is that the 9007 harness needs the blue and white wires switched on the main blue plug. if you don't do this the bixenon high beams don't kick on. once i switched over the pins everything works. Apparently the 9007 and 9004 harnesses are the same, but have different pinouts. it would have been nice to get a heads up about this issue but a little HID forum searching found the answer.

The headlights are installed, aligned, and working good. It's hard to get a picture that accurately represents how they look at night, still working on that. This took more work than I thought but the light output is very nice. the high beams are amazing..

well a picture of the cutoff lines hi and low beams on a wall would be a good start for pics.

I ran into the 9004/9007 wiring issue, too bad the hids don't come with a note

Hate to bring up an old thread, but I just bought a '04 ST Adrenalin and I ordered the Morimoto Mini H1 projectors tonight. My only hang up is the lock flash of headlights when locking the doors... How'd you deal with this issue?
