shift sol change

was getting code p0761, so went to ford dealer and bought a shift solenoid
after installing solenoid and new filter, filled tranny with mercon v.
no chips in pan and every thing looked good when removing pan

o.d. light blinks immediately when engine starts and vehicle stalls in reverse, drive seems to engage very harsh.

did not move vehicle

o.d. light only came on if o.od. was not turned off before reaching 60 m.p.g.

maybe wiring harness?

When you replaced the solenoid did you look at the wiring in the trans for bare spots with missing insulation. Everyone that drops the pan should do this check, if there still is a problem then you know that it's not the internal wiring.
