Question about those "Explorer" and "XLT" body badges on a 2002 XLT.

The shiny silver body badges that say "Explorer" on both the drivers and passenger doors, as well as the one on the lift gate including the "XLT" badge, how are those installed?

I assume two sided tape of some type? Do they have alignment holes IN the door itself. I've seen some where there is literally a hole in the door and a little peg goes into them to help line it up so it's straight.

I've seen others that were just slapped on there.

I ask because I'd like to remove them but I don't want to leave little holes in the doors and lift gate. I cracked my front grill and I've ordered one of those aftermarket cheapo things off eBay that is aluminum with no FORD markings or badges, I'd like to de-badge the whole SUV.

Thanks!

Oddly enough, I bought mine used, and there were no Explorer logos on any of the doors, no holes!

But I understand completely, some may have holes.

I was just gassing up my 2002 XLT, and my daughter pointed to the "V8" symbol on the rear hatch, and asked if it meant I had a V8. She barely touched it and it just fell right off! No holes, just worn-out tape/glue of some sort.
