Stock Radio and Sirius

I have the 6 disc, MP3, SAT radio in my 05 Ex. I installed the OEM Visteon Sirius kit about 2 years ago it is worked fine untill the other day when the radio indicated to "Call Sirius" I did and made sure my account was active, which it was. Went through a few diag steps with their tech support which did not work. I then checked the DTC's in the radio and it indicated that the DLP was deffective. I checked for loose connections, cold solder joints and anything else that may look suspicous an was not able to find anything. So I think the DLP is, infact, toast. (We did have a nasty lightning storm the day before)

My radio is the newer 5L2T-18C815-DC. (has SAT and AUX buttons)
Currently the DLP is Y5L3T-18C961-AE (the first #'s may not be right)

My question is can I use the newer 6L3T-18C963-AE DLP. It looks as if it will plug right in but I am not sure. The older one is difficult to find at a reasonable price.

I would like to keep things stock and not have the SAT reciever stuck to my dash.

Thanks.
Jeff

have you tried pulling the sat fuse? or removing power from the dlp and let it reboot?

early model sat receivers had issues that a reboot fixed called sirius.

I had reset it several times and it would tune to the preview (184) channel but then revert back to the FM radio and would not go back into SAT mode. Usualy when a reboot was necessary the screen would say "Service SAT". Then simply turning off the radio and turning it back on would fix it. I am wondering if I simply reset the radio and the sat together if that would help.
