V8 Swap Advice, any advice welcome

So here is what I got:
1995 Eddie Bauer 4x4 V6
and
1996 XLT 4x2 V8

I want to swap the engine into the 95 because of 4wd and drop the V6 in the 4x2 to make a summer driving truck. I need help, advice on what I am going to need to accomplish this so please post links or direct advice right on here. Thanks a bunch and God bless!

incompatibilities

The V8 engine is not compatible with the V6 transmission and the V6 engine is not compatible with the V8 transmission. That means both engine/transmission pairs would have to be swapped. However, the 2WD transmission is not compatible with the 4WD transfer case.

I suggest that you sell your 95 4WD V6 and purchase a 96 or later 4WD V8. They are readily available and that way you will have the later OBD diagnostics. Your 96 2WD V8 is not that common, has a robust drivetrain, and will get decent gas mileage if you drive it like it only had a 150 hp V6.
