CAN Purposely Delaying Delivery

Okay, this is going to sound strange, but ...

as expected Ford Canada have extended their employee pricing event and $1,000 Costco discount into September, and I'm now in the mood to deal and buy a Limited 4wd Ex.

However, I don't want to take delivery until December (and specifically want it delivered in the first few weeks of December). There are number of reasons for this, including:

1) I'm hoping FOrd works out more bugs before delivery;
2) I don't need it till then; and most importantly
3) there is typically a 0% interest event in December and I'd like to take advantage of it. The Ford Employee Pricing event can be combined with most retail offers, and you get to take the best of when you order, or when vehicle is delivered.

I want the vehicle directly from the factor (see point #1)

Has anyone ever tried to force delivery into a certain time period? Thoughts?

If you want it delivered in Dec than it's going to be built at the end of Oct or in Nov. I ordered back in July to make sure my truck was on the lot waiting when I got home. Order at the end of the month and i'll bet Dec will be your delivery date unless they are really backed up.

that deal is on till the end of the month. just order before the end of the month and tell them that you want it built to be here in december. They will do it. Basically they built the vehicle and you purchase it as its stock

Thanks - nice to know they will in fact do that! It will be nice to stack the employee pricing with the December financing deals.

calb, for what it's worth, I ordered my 2011 last Dec. 20th and they had a $1000 Early Order incentive in place. I was given a Feb. 24th build date. I took delivery March 14th and by that time Ford had introduced another new offer of $1000 off the price or options. So that meant that I was able to get $2000 off the price. The $1000 Costco discount was also still valid but did not apply to me.

Thanks Peter!

I am pretty sure that December they have better incentives including low (0%) interest and Costco. If I can stack that with employee pricing which knocks about $4,500 off, and knock about 4% off for dealer markup, I'll feel like that's not too bad.

(Hopefully dealership will feel the same
