my 3gs battery life improved for the 2 days I was running iOS 5 on it, one thing that will help is turning off all or parts of iCloud that you don't need, notifications, bluetooth, etc.

The data speeds I've seen for the 4S show AT&T way in the lead, then verizon, then sprint. Some people have been having trouble with the 3G on sprint being super slow, slower than dial up internet. But I haven't had any problems so far and have been getting .5 to 1.5 Mb/s down, and .3 to .5 Mb/s up.

I haven't actually checked the speeds, but I can open up Netflix and pretty much start playing instantly, something that always took my previous Androids 2-3 minutes to buffer short episodes.

So far LOVE it and seeing how I'm a Mac user I LOVE the fact that I can sync my iTunes/photos/videos/everything else without even having to plug it in!!

No flaws so far with the exception my camera is a little slow opening/loading up every now and then. Apparently this is one known issue with the iOS 5 operating system already though... buuut I really wouldn't consider that a flaw.
The 4S has Siri. The 4 does not. I think as time goes by, people will realize Siri is the one huge differentiator between the two. I used the old Siri on my 4. This new one is only available on the 4S, but it's going to really change the way people use their iPhone. It's by far the most advanced Artificial Intelligence software available on a smartphone.

Yes! I had read about it prior to buying the phone but didn't honestly care too much about it. Then the sprint guy started talking about how he is probably gonna get one JUST because how much he wanted Siri. He ten explained it a bit more to me and I was interested. Once he showed me a little demo, I was damn impressed! I mean it feels like I'm talking to an actual person! And you wouldn't believe some of the things you can say, and get a response too!

I was so dissappointed when I held down my home button on my regular iPhone 4 after the upgrade and the stupid old voice control still came up I was really looking forward to Siri!!

That's not what the S is actually for lol, remember there was the "3G" then "3GS"

But anyways, it's just to make them more money. It's a desirable feature for most, so I bet a lot of people went from the 4 to the 4S.

Yes, I believe the "S" stands for "speed" since the 3GS was faster than the 3G and the 4S is faster than the 4

I don't think it's mainly to make money. I read a post by a developer, and Siri is very processor intensive. The A5 processor in the 4S is about twice as fast as the processor in the 4. Siri may run on the older 4, but it would run slow. And Apple doesn't like it when they have hardware out there running things that lower the "customer experience".

Yeah, it's been hacked to run on the iphone 4, but all the demo videos I've seen so far have been pretty slow, something I bet will be fixed in time. I also don't buy that it's very processor intensive since so much of it is run on the apple servers, not the phone itself. The stupid thing has to call home even when I ask it to do something simple like play music.

I've seen the videos of the hack, and all it shows is the Siri screen and some scrolling. I haven't seen it actually work, or even recognize a command.
Is there some newer footage out now?

A screen shot and scrolling isn't "running" Siri, in my opinion...

Well, my phone left China and is sitting in Hong Kong. I should have it monday....

Of course, I would have liked to have it for truckhaven (I use motionx as my topo gps).

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to use a compass, or get lost at truckhaven..

Exactly..

Here is a track from last time. 3/4 is when someone else was leading (no gps etc). Then its me leading, AND I'm using the GPS (just to get an idea where camp is).

http://maps.google.com/?t=p&z=15&ll=...e26ebe88c8b777

And Worst case, you just find a wash and head east to the road and then find your way back to camp the really long way.

Impossible to get lost at T-haven. All washes lead to the Salton Sea or the mountain. If you're heading for the mountain, but wanting to go to camp, you're going the wrong way

Well, by lost, I mean I don't know where I am, not I don't know how to get back. And "lost" isn't exactly a bad thing at truckhaven, as long as your not broken on a sunday morning..

I also forgot to mention, I LOVE the drop down menu Apple finally gave the iPhone.

Someone with the 3G/4, with the iOS 5 update, do you guys have that also?
