Seat Repair/replacment/swap

I have an 04 Sport Trac and the leather on the driver's side is showing some wear. No rips, but the gray is scratching off the leather and doesn't look that good and the foam has collapsed a bit and isn't firm anymore.
Is it possible to take the leather cushion off the driver seat and swap it with the passenger seat? that way the rough part would be beside the console and not noticable. To the naked eye they look the same, but I don't want to go to the trouble of trying to remove the seats, etc if someone out there already knows this won't work.
If this doesn't work, anyone have ideas on how to make the seat look better?

I know the seat foam is interchangable but not completely sure the cover is. Call Ford and ask for the part number of the seat cushion cover left & right. If the covers are the same just swap the cushion/cover as a unit. That will give you the outer edge support on the drivers seat again.
