ok let's start here. my 1991 exploder 4wd 4.0 has several problems, but here is what i think is the first one i should address. my volt meter bounces from about 13 to 15 volts all the time. when the headlights are on, they constantly flicker brighter and then dimmer. this has been happening since the day i got this truck 5+ years ago. my idle raises up sometimes, but almost never if i warm the engine up before moving the vehicle. i replaced the tps, but it still does it. also when my speed exceeds 45 mph, the needle bounces. i don't know how to read the "codes" that you guys talk about, i only know that for $500.00 bucks (what i paid for the truck) this is probably the best vehicle i ever owned, and i want to fix it. help.
