Tube hanging from rear axle after shocks were replaced

My mechanic recently put in new shocks. I noticed a tube hanging down off the rear axle, just to the left of the differential. Is this anything I should be worried about?

Pics here. The first pic shows the tube hanging down, the second shows where the tube is attached to the axle.
 






It's the axle vent tube that's not connected and left hanging. (Second pic)
Make sure it's not plugged up, mount it high around the spare tire, and leave slack.

Often, the charcoal cannister vent hose is accidentally left disconnected when changing the L/R shock.
 






Yep, use a wire tie to tie it up to something above the axel.
 






It clips onto the frame above where the spare tire is. I had to take mine off when I was messing around with the fill, and vent tube on my gas tank.
