I don't think I posted any pics of my body work I did a year or 2 ago, so here they are. As you know they don't make the doglegs, so they had to be made. I used rivets, bondo and galvanized steel (cannot recall the gauge). I used a pre made rocker on the drivers side. Inner rockers were made with the galvanized but not pictured. I tarred/uncoated the back side up to prevent rusting issues.

Sorry for the quality, they were taken mostly with a crappy 1.3 megapixel camera phone.

Passenger side with the rust cut out:

New pieces riveted in place on passenger side:

Bondo applied:

Passenger side all finished and sprayed in bedliner:

That rust being cut out:

New metal added to the driver side:

Bondo time!:

Recent pic, the rear side trim piece fell off and needs reattached. Double sided tape didn't work well:

Nice job!

Nice job! I'll post some of the pics of the rust on my ex tomorrow. I pulled of all the trim and... It's bad. I'm extremely impressed with your work though!

Thanks guys. My dad gave me a hand, but it is not all that hard. I think I had 300(?) into this (got the galv. metal for free, so it would be like 350ish). It took some trial and error as I had to learn how to bondo. I drove it around while I worked on it so it was kind of a work in progress. Still holding up good and I'm into the 2nd winter with the new rockers.

It turned out real nice. :biggthump

Good clean work man

Now it's officially a Pa. buggy, lol.

In a HillBilly voice " Bondo is my Buddy." LOL

Great work on the metal and bondo work for a first time.

I need to fabricate a rocker and dog leg for Carol's Mounty. The right side under the rear passenger door is gone. Metal tape and paint for inspection next month and metal this spring.

Thanks. Gotta love the salt. It ruins everything.

Hahaha!

They make the 4 door rockers and doglegs, so you could just cut the old out, rivet the new in, and use your buddy, Bondo.

Yeah, I seen that they make them. I'll probably get both the rocker and the dog leg but the dog leg won't cover all the rust decay.

nice job

Wow that came out great.

Definitely Nice Work!

Agreed- nice work!

Fantastic work!!! Mine's not tooooo bad, but definitely needs some attention though. This post definitely makes it seem like a reasonable project. Thanks!

It is doable no doubt. So much nicer than looking at the rust. I drove it while doing this. I did one side at a time. It looked kind of ghetto with bondo and the flares missing, but I didn't have large amounts of time to devote at once, and no spare car.
