Swapping Transfer Cases? Auto to AWD?

What's up everyone...just need some help/advise...

I have a 2002 explorer xlt that has the 4x4 auto transfer case...I recently replaced it with a rebuilt 4x4 auto transfer case but the rebuilt just broke on me...luckily its still under a 1 year warranty...I wanted to ask if its possible to just swap this one out and install the AWD transfer case? if I can do this that would be great...I would rather have a mechanical AWD system rather than my 4x4 auto

Any help would be appreciated...thanks
