Check Engine Codes

My 2001 v6 explorer stalls when I step on the gas in any drive gear. I get the following codes: p1747 p0743 p0750 p0755 p0760 p0765 p0141. I read that it can be electrical. Can some1 please help me?

Where are you getting theze codes. My Haynes book doesn't even show codes above P0605. Code P0141 shows Downstream O2 sensor heated circuit failure. That being said, I would check the throttle position sensor. Soundz to me like it is not producing a correct signal to the PCM.

THanks for ur time. most of the code have a relationship with the pcm except the 02 code. how do i test the tps? i don't want to buy it and it does not fix the problem

damaged wiring?

P0141 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0743 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Electrical
P0750 Shift Solenoid A Malfunction
P0755 Shift Solenoid B Malfunction
P0760 Shift Solenoid C Malfunction
P0765 Shift Solenoid D Malfunction
P1747 Electronic Pressure Control Solenoid - Short circuit

I suggest that you check the wiring and the connectors from the rear of engine on the passenger side to the transmission.

Your DTCs are not related to the TPS.

5R55E transmission harness

The 5R55E transmission harness starts at the rear of the engine with a connector behind each head as shown below.

The two looms go aft between the transmission bell housing and the opening in the firewall. It becomes one a single loom aft of the bellhousing on the driver side of the transmission. There is a connector forward of the shift selector and one at the digital transmission range (DTR) sensor. The loop splits out with wires going to several of the O2 sensors.

Since the PCM is reporting that all of the transmission shift solenoids are malfunctioning either one of the connectors at the engine rear or at the transmission is loose or the cable is shorted. If the wiring loom is not positioned properly and secured it can contact the exhaust which burns thru the insulation causing a short. I suggest starting at the transmission and working forward toward the rear of the engine.

two pre-cat sensors

Yes, the photo of the cats and transmission is on the driver side. The reason there are two pre-cat O2 sensors on the downpipe is because I added one for my wideband air/fuel ratio meter.

ok i taped up the exposed wires i saw. the problem is still there. BUT when i forgot to plug the connector back in at the tranny it somehow worked except for reverse. what could that mean?

Check fuse 13 (15 amps) in the Battery Junction Box. It may have blown when the transmission wires shorted to ground. Make sure that all wires are intact (not cut) and not shorted to each other or anything else.

no. it was some insulation for a wire.

ill check that again. i also took a look at ur pic and realized i never checked the grey connector. is it possible to just pull the whole loom out with the o2 sensor wire so i can bring it inside and check thoroughly?

DJ, as I recall, you can pull that harness, but it is very difficult to reach the upper connection behind the engine. I had mine out to re-tape it, but the transmission was out of the vehicle, so access to the connectors was much easier.
