Dk Exp Gas Mileage Problems... I know this has been brought up multiple times..

I recently got my sparks, wires and coil done due to a real lose of power in low gears. That solved the problem however im now facing something different. I live in Boston and driving to NH which is about 80 miles, round trip I filled up before i left however my tank dropped to a half a tank when i finally got back home. Does this seem normally? This doesnt seem to right to me... My CL is on for a major leak in the EVAP system, now im no engine expert, i mainly come here for help. Im wondering if anybody has a suggestion, i know i should get my CL problem fixed, im wondering though it that has alot to do with it, and also how much something like that cost to fix. Thanks guys, any suggestions would really help

Hey a local explorer! I'm in Lawrence right by NH. I got the 82nd Airborne Division sticker on back window lol. Just had to throw that out there, everyone on rangerstation forum lives so far away.

you need to get the CL fixed 1st, an evap leak can also generate a vacuum leak

Go to autozone ask them to use their scan gauge to tell you codes unless you know exactly what is wrong which it sounds like you have an idea. Don't you mean CEL(check engine light). Mines on for an 02 sensor.
I go from Lynn to Lawrence and back on about 1/4 tank, about $20 in gas. All depending if I go 65 or 75mph. At 75 I blow through gas.

Ohh and as far as miles per tank I get 250-260 with my 31 1/2 inch BFgoodrich AT tires and 320-350 with my 29 inch suv tires. I average about 15.999mpg with the stupid CEL, that and I have a crack in my filler neck.

ive got a crack in my filler neck as well, i think thats whats setting off my CEL, not to sure though. I live in Everett, do you think Everett to Nashua, NH and back should be at a half a tank? idk just doesnt seem right. I also was doing about 80-90 the whole way there and back..

MPG is calculated by dividing miles driven by gallons used. You cannot get any accurate MPG numbers by using the fuel gauge.
Fill up, record miles, drive until your near empty and fill up again.
Divide miles driven since last fill up by gallons used on the pump.

Post results.

As in I fill up, I reset my trip meter, and I divide miles driven by what I put in tank on next fill up.

Driving 80+ is not exactly in the sweet spot for fuel mileage.
