Just wonder how long it will be before we Canadians will see the update through the mail.

Doing an update without the maps SD inserted works fine for all the other releases, I don't see why it would have any affect on this one. And if the dealership is doing the update, then how could it have an adverse affect on warranty status? The only downside is that the updated system would have no navigation until the new maps update is inserted into the SD slot.

You can still have them do the upgrade but NAV won't work until you get your new card (unless of course your dealer gives you an SD card).

Please send me your VINs and addresses in a private message so I can verify we have the correct info.

Rebecca, Do you know if they will be mailed USPS or one of the other services like UPS or FedEx? Need to know how to look for it. Exciting!

It sound like the update will affect the nav ? So are you saying that the new nav sd card will be mailed later ?

Those that have Nav will receive a new SD card with the software update in the mail. They will come together!

Yes, the update changes the Nav substantially. See the video I posted above. The NAV itself is changed, as well as the maps they are using. Ford switched map providers.

They are sending a new SD card WITH the update.

If you decide to go to your dealer and get the upgrade early, you may have to wait to get the NAV card.

Will the MFT update and the Nav SD card be free from Ford? What if we have the dealership do the update? Charges?? Thanks.

Bill - as has been discussed previously, Ford is sending the update for both MFT and Nav (if applicable) at no cost to the owners.

Holy cow I love ford. Making a bad product happens but fixing it right, ...well that rarely happens.

Bill, there is No charge. It's all FREE, except of course the hours worth of gas you'll be burning while it loads.

Is it unreasonable to insist the dealer install this before I pick up my new 2012 Limited (with August 2011 build date) this Friday?

I was also asking that the A Pillar TSB be done prior to delivery as well.

Spoke to sales guy today who is 'looking into it'.

Don't make the sale till its all done...... I wouldn't pick it up if it needs tsb's fixed. Why should you waste your precious time taking it back at a later date?????
