Talked to my dealer this morning to ask about the upgrade...was told they did not have anything...interesting. Not sure if they are just holding back or really don't have anything yet.

Either way the Ex is going into the shop Friday for the remote start install so I will talk to one of the Service Managers then to see if it can be done. Since I know they "should" already have it I am hoping a personal presence will help push it along...

Of course if it shows up on SyncMyRide I will be installing it sooner!

Good luck to everyone else in their quest for the upgrades...

My wife dropped off the Explorer on Monday for the BSOD and the service advisor told her that Ford is not sending the update out until August now.
I find it funny that dealerships have no clue.

I took my 2012 Explorer into the dealer yesterday and got updated to the new version of MFT (quite an impressive update!). What I heard before was that they will update your MFT software but won't give you the new maps. I also heard that the old maps won't work with the new update. My maps are working after the update so does that mean they did give me the new maps? How can I tell for sure? Is there a maps version number? If so, where is that located and what is the new maps verision number?

I think the maps will look totally different because its a different company. The sd card will prob look different too so take it out and look... If you did get the new just released update the old sd would not work, so either they gave you a new card or they updated you to 2.11.... (i could be wrong....)

Do you have the SD card? Should say a date on it somewhere.

I hope this fixes my frequent problem of the MFT screen NOT shutting off. I'll come out after work or in the morning to go to work, & the screen is still on (and no, I did not leave the car running).
At least the song titles will still appear if you are in the entertainment quadrant as per this pic.

So bluelion, any bugs? How is the experience? Inquiring minds want to know!

How would you rate the new software?

No bugs as of yet. No freezes either. Everything is still moving quicker and smoother than 2.11. Definitely easier and quicker to navigate through the different menus/settings/screens. When you swap screens i like how the screen fades away and then fades back in with the new screen that you selected...

On a scale from 1-10, i would give it a 8-9 compared to previous version. Only two things come to my mind that i wish was different or carried over, and that's the ambient temp on main home page and the song title on entertainment tab. But those are minor preferences not really "complaints"... i can try to upload a video tonight of me navigating through different screens to show the speed.

A video would be great! Especially demoing the improved voice commands for navigation address entry.

How is entering an address? The amount of steps to enter an address is painful. I wont be able to get the upgrade for a few weeks until I get home.

I hope someone can make an Image of the USB Update Stick. I will not get the update USB stick by mail. Unfortunately Ford seems to be unable to send mails to Europe.

I may be wrong, it has happened a couple of times, but I don't think anyone has received theirs in the mail yet as of this date. It seems all the updates have been done by the dealer.
So no need to rush home yet!

Peter

What is that to the right of the Home icon? That seems new. I believe the old/current version just has the i and Home icons.
