I find it interesting seeing buildings go up at a fast pace.

I wonder why some companies don't have large crews, don't knock out projects quickly, and don't move on to another project.

Where I am at, a garage like that would take pry a week to form and pour the pad. Then pry, at least 2-4 weeks to finish. Pry even more...

I see construction jobs in my area going on for many years until they finally finish. This job took no time at all. How many workers were doing this job at the same time?

And it was "starting" to get warm.. It was only in the mid to upper 90's today down here.. and if they took a week or so it would only get hotter.

There were 8 workers for 8 hours, so 56 man hours of work (1 hr for lunch).

The difference in getting paid by the hour & being a bid job, and a boss that cracks the whip every minute on the job.

Do they do the chicken wire too, or just apply to the foam?

Whoa, having the Pumpkin in the picture really puts the size of those doors in perspective!

Yep, chicken wire goes on top of the styrofoam.

You're not kidding... When I stepped out of the Pumpkin and looked at it in there I was pretty surprised by how small the truck looked.

You got it I want to build a large, coil spring saguaro cactus

BTW, if you leave those in the ground long enough they'll sprout new ones

That's the nice thing about living in the sticks. All I needed was a permit. No inspections.

Looks good Rick.

Doesn't matter how far away from the county seat you are, our county just wants the money. Basically a tax on new construction. I can't remember exactly how much my contractor paid for all the permits, but I do remember it was a hell of a lot. He said it's about 4 times less in Indiana where he's originally from.
