weird problem i think

last week the i was drive the explorer (2002 with a 5r55w) and stopped at a light went to take off and there was nothing. put it in reverse and it backed up so i move it out of traffic. i put it back in drive i felt like it wanted to move but it didn't. so i put it in 1st and it moved once i got going i shift it in second then thrid as i got close to home i put it in drive but you could feel it slipping as the revs pick up. last fall i had new bands and clutch and steels replaced due to a broken rev band. and i put about 9,000km since the work was done and it never gave me a problem untill last week. what am i looking at here to fix this. is it another tear down or could it be a bad servo??

thank for look.

I know it old thread but did you find out what wrong with it?

One explorer my friend want trade in for my F350.

It did same thing you describe. No #4 #5 gear and notice 3-5 sec delay to get in reverse.
