Those of you that feel that it fixed it a little, when you tap on the roof line, does it sound less like a Jamacian Steel Drum?
The important thing is, what does it sound like from the inside?

Does it make a difference? There are many posts that indicate there is no change.

When i tap on it.. it sounds like a tin can still.. time will tell when we have the next rain storm. I didnt receive paperwork because the W/O wasnt closed out. The service manager is going to call me Monday. I mentioned the transmission clunk and it doesnt seem they did anything but cant tell till I see the paperwork.

Ill update then.

What I found interesting.....I now have a brand new windshield also (nothing wrong with old one), apparently per the dealer, the only way to replace the headliner is to remove the windshield and put the headliner in through the windshield opening after laying all the seats flat. Which I guess this means they had to also remove the outside A-pillar appliques and stuff. They said the rear hatch it too narrow to get the headliner in. I just hope that I don't have problems now with the windshield leaking or anything........time will tell........

Also, the new center console is slightly different than the original, the media hub (SD Card Slot, USB's) area on the new one now has a raised area around the SD card slot, which I assume is to help prevent accidental bumping of the SD card for the NAV.....The old one did not have this.....

Still not resolved.

They did install a "new' headliner but the "new" one has a 1.5 inch cut in the passenger A-pillar area.

They did install the headliner without removing the windshield.

Cory escalated the call with Ford and I was contacted by a lady named Tara.

Tara was polite but explained the dealer denied there ever being a problem.

She said that it was a "he said - she said" situation and that I needed to take it up with the dealer.

I have my attorney involved as of yesterday and it is probably headed for litigation.

I seriously doubt I will ever buy another vehicle from Joel Confer.

Depending on how this turns out I may never buy another Ford vehicle!

Ill keep you posted.

Sorry to hear that, so are they saying that you caused the 1.5 inch tear and now refusing to do anything about it? That sucks......When I went to pick mine up after having the headliner replaced, I thought of your ordeal, I took a flash light with me and looked over every inch for any tears.

Partly correct.

According to Tara at Ford, the dealer denied anything ever happening!

Including the original glue / foam smear.

It's costing me a considerable amount in attorneys fees.

I should hear something by the end of this week.

HDJulie & jfbk,

I wanted to check in with you; are you still having a concern?

Keep us in the loop on whether you decide to have the TSB performed, Peter.

Rodomontade,

I want to see that this is resolved for you. However, because you're working with an attorney, I'm no longer able to help.

Cory

Peter
If I could go back, I would never have had this TSB done. I would have dealt with the tin can sound. As a result of having this TSB done, I have been without the vehicle for a total of about 15 days (10 days straight plus a few here and there) and have had to have the following parts replaced as a result of carelessness regarding the foam:

1. Headliner
2. Windshield
3. Passenger seat cover (leather)
4. Drivers side visor
5. Drivers side A-pillar interior moulding
6. Center console (where cup holders, media ports, shifter are)
7. Center Dash cluster (center dash piece that houses the MFT screen, vents, audio/climate touch controls)
8. Shifter knob

Its simply not worth it.........

The TSB does not say that it is limited only to non moonroof vehicles, so yes, it applies to all.
I have a moonroof and had arranged to have the TSB done with my last oil change but asked them to hold off while I rethink this through some more.
Whether it is a 'fix' is another matter. A few who have had it done do not notice a difference.

Peter

Not everyone has incompetent dealer like you do.. mine came out perfect. Now whether it made a difference is something to be determined.

Completely agree. I'm only speaking of my personal experience. But still, I think the potential benefits of a "clean" execution of the TSB are not worth the risks of a botched execution. One little drop of the foam on something else and your screwed.....to each their own.

I agree. Don't have it done. Mine came out perfectly clean the only thing wrong, it did nothing to dampen the noise. So, what's the point?

Agree with ^ everything was perfectly done on my ex. Just it made no difference in the rain noise. Got my a pillars fixed and can really hear the rain now. Dont bother getting this done, or just expect no difference!

I apologize for taking so long to get back to this thread. I had the Rain Noise TSB done (or I assume it was done - they kept my car for 3 days & when I got it back I had no smell or any other indicator it was done :-) ). I asked for it because I hoped it would help with the bluetooth noise. It did not make any difference for me -- the bluetooth still sucks.

I find the Bluetooth to work 20 times better than our 2007 Camry Hybrid. People hear me clear as a bell. The first time I used it I forgot to turn off the climate fan and my wife said it sounded like I was n. a wind tunnel. Shut the fan off and she could not believe how clear it was. Using an iPhone 4 with the volume all the way up on the phone.

Well, turning off the climate control in Houston summer heat really isn't an option, and shouldn't be necessary, lol! But you said the 3rd quarter update tries to address this issue?

Thanks
