Getting manufacturers to make headers isn't that hard. Getting enough people who will actually pay for them is the problems, since as you can see in most threads where people discuss the current offerings, things like TM headers just cost too much, and headers should be cheaper and yadda yadda.

Quote:
Our smallest production run is 25 set.
A typical v8 Msds raw steel, uncoated pair of headers are $594.00
Assembly jigs are approx. $1,000.00 a set.
Prototype costs are generally $250.00 per port, with a donor vehicle supplied by the client.
Since this is not a HOT demanded product that we are looking for, it will be hard for us to reduce the set up costs above.
We may however be able to offer your forum a discount on the headers .
You will still need to initiate a 25 quantity order.
Follow up orders will also be min 25 sets.
Hope this helps...

See. Here is an example of a company that will produce things in small volumes and even will consider a vehicle with low demand for their parts. To get things started even, you would need 26 people (including the person with the prototype vehicle) to put up about 700 bucks a piece for an initial run.

Despite how many people on here are always screaming for more options, I'll bet you won't even find half of that willing to put up the scratch for them. I mean, I could also get in touch with some of those companies that make the REALLY cheap headers you can find for some cars, my Mandarin Chinese isn't that bad after all, to get headers under $400, but it isn't worth it.

The only way you get headers produced on a volume smaller than the company above is to buy them from someone who does things like that as a side job, a hobbyist like Bob from TMH.

But hey, if you want headers, either wait until Bob can start taking orders again, wait till some other hobbyist takes over his position in aftermarket or find 26 people who will actually pay what a set of decent headers cost.

And now you see why no one else is going to produce headers for the 5.0.

Funny when I called advanced I told the guy they should alter them and they would work, and that there are`nt any options for us explorer guys and if they made a set to fit the p heads I`d tell all the forum peeps and he said he`d pass it along when I called Monday!Maybe hearing it over and over we swayed them!Let`s hope! The TMH ones are supposed to ship mid july.Always nice to have options!

Looking at them again it isn`t the tubes(I was thinking of the hedman headers) but just the flanges that are probably in the way.p head ones like TMHs are trimmed way back to give space for the plugs. It would be simple fix if that`s all that is wrong.

Sounds great to me!Like they said in Josey Wales "always good to have angles"Eastwood looked at the girl and said"oh yeh,a whole lot of angles"
but I wrote to Ford already about that and got no responce.Typical corporate idiocy.
What we need are lots of options ex-dude.

If Bob e-mails me back anytime soon or if there's any indication that the TMHs are back in production or ready to go I'll drop the $700+ in a second for them. If this is the end of TMHs I'll gladly pursue a newer header if the price stays low (~$400) and gladly offer up my 5.0 Mounty as a test vehicle or whatever is needed of me. But the TMHs definitely take precedence for my money (tried, tested, and proven). Just my two cents.

I'm looking for headers for my newly purchased 5.0 Mounty, but I have to have the CARB stamp of approval. So looks like I will be waiting for the latest TMH's!

Don't discuss politics on the forum, it's against the rules, besides, it is pretty clear you have no idea what communism or socialism is, so you will end up making yourself look silly. You need to apply to the california air resources board and there is a short process to get a carb approval. One can go on their website for information. All you need to show is that the part does not interfere with the emissions equipment of the vehicle, or has provisions to restore or match them.

Just saying, making those types of statements could be offensive to many people and that calling political views that you don't agree with communism is ignorant. Not trying to start an argument, just pointing it out to you that it is against forum rules and sounds silly.

Anyway, came back to give you a linky http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/forms/forms.htm

You want form A
