Ford dealership denying me services

Looks like my 2006 Explorer is going to be my last ford vehicle. Since this the only dealership on the island I live on in hawaii, they dont want to work with me. I was about to purchase a new vehicle from them and they recently told me we wont be able to service your car even if your vehicle is covered under warranty.

I called motor company this issue and they said they can do nothing about my concern since its a franchise. Looks like my next suv will be a 4runner

Seeing how you had a issue with them and the antifreeze on the belt tensioner, do you think they would service your vehicle? The service manager at any dealership has the right to deny you service even if its under warranty since like you said they are a franchise and not a actual employee of Ford Motor Company.

Curious as to why they are denying you service?? I'm guessing you're an a$$ hole considering you contacted Ford motors.
But please elaborate, I wanna be wrong.

About 2 years ago ford issued a tsb notice on 2006 explorers that had been built with a defective radiator. I got the radiator replaced and my car was purchase without the ford esp. After the repair was finish, I went to pick up my vehicle from the service center and a loud squeaking sound was coming from the engine. I get out from my vehicle go talk to lady at the service she tells me I have charge 75 dollars for a diagnostic fee plus labor. I left and called the general manager of the dealership and told him I did not receive my vehicle back in the same condition as I dropped it off, there is squeaking sound coming from engine, after the ford techs repaired my vehicle and service center wants to charge me a arm and leg. The general manager response was goto hell basically not our fault, and I told him to #### off basically and your customer service is horrible here. I live in hawaii now, on the big island there is only one ford dealership, so its a monopoly basically and being that they dont care how they treat their customers.

So ever since filing couple complaints about the dealership with both the bbb and the ford dealership tell this day they didnt want to work with me or provide service to my vehicle. Filing a complaint with ford motor company gives the dealership a negative if problems do not get resolved. The service center today when I brought my vehicle in to get my vin number register with syncmyride.com refused to help me out. I was planning to purchase a new vehicle as well and they said informed they will not take care of my vehicle even if its under warranty.

So I called the general manager a few minutes ago and apologized to him, fighting with him about what the ford technicians did to my vehicle and he accepted my apology. Hes going to help get the situation resolved with the service center tomorrow.

I knew a friend who had a similar issue at a Mercedes Benz dealership with his 2011 MB ML350. He had a issue caused by a tech there and they wouldn't cover the repair cost, where he lived that was the only dealer within 50 miles of him. He called MBUSA and was told basically the same thing you were told, the individual dealerships are only franchises and only has to abide by certain rules. He basically had to take off a entire day with his wife and drive 2 hours to the next closest dealership to get it serviced. Its a pita for him since he has to drop it off the day of the appointment then once its repaired he has to drive back up there with his wife or whoever and pick it back up.

Welcome to the joys of owning a Saab. The nearest decent dealer to me is 100 miles. If it can be fixed for under $150 I just do it myself now. It's not worth the hassle.

And please do buy a 4Runner.

I haven't found a good stealership anywhere. They are all expensive. It doesn't pay to get in their face no matter how right you are.
I take my business that I can't do myself to an independent tire and mechanic shop in the city I live in. They are honest and a lot less expensive than the stealership.

I have a 2005 Xterra. It has a flaw that allows coolant to mix with trans fluid which destroys the transmission. I have 185K on it. The dealer wanted $9,500 to fix transmission and replace the radiator. Nissan won't admit there is a problem. I had the vehicle towed to a independent shop that overhauled the tranny for about 1/3 or less with a 2 year warranty.
