I have a 98 explorer 4.0 sohc I was told the camshaft sensor was bad and that it was located in the back of the motor. I was given the part but when I looked in my explorer book it shows my model on the drivers side on the front side. however, when I reach in the back of the motor there is a part that feels similar to the part they gave me....confused? can someone shed some light on this, thanks.

I did have a letter "x" as the 8th character in my vin # showing I have a 4.0 6 cyl. ohc. Thanks for your help.
