2007 Ford Sport Trac
Hello, I recently purchased an 07 Ford Explorer Sport Trac v8. Thanks to these forums I've done a lot of research and started to upgrade it.

First thing's first and for now I added the Truxx lift with off road wheel's and tire's thanks to Snell motors accessories/customs in Mankato MN for the install. They did a great job at getting it all installed and fender trimmed to fit the tires under it for around 500 bucks.

The wheel's are, Fuel Krank 17x9 -12 offset with 285/70/17 mickey thompson Baja MTZ tires. The wheel offset is a bit too much but I think it look's great and hopefully the cops don't mind it. I could probably get 305 tires to easily fit with the offset.

Looks awesome, so how does it ride now compared to stock on freeway and bumps and offroad. HOw is the mpg and how quiet is the ride compared to before. Any regrest or things you would do different I want to do something very similar. How about alignment and speedo chagnes

The ride is a little stiffer and rougher but that's alright because it feels more like a truck. The tires are amazing fairly quiet and handle very good, once you're used to it its great. Its hard to say what difference in mpg is, since the speedo seems to between 2-3 mph off so watch it in town and school zone's. im guessing 1-2 mpg loss, but fuel mileage suck's anyways ha ha. Its hard to keep it up to speed 70+ on interstate. the overdrive gets a bit confused and im afraid of it burning out. im thinking about going to a local transmission shop to find out if and what changes are needed to the gear ratio. The guy who installed truxx kit said basically alignment is close to what is provided but he looked it up online somewhere to be sure. Honestly for the love of god, just save up a few bucks and have professionals install it =). Only change maybe less offset, -6 may be better. Ill just have to replace any wore out parts sooner is all. I haven't done any offroad so I couldn't say if its any good or not. If you want to offroad you need the older model. All in all I am extremely happy for doing this lift/tires.

P.S. The pictures don't do it justice, It looks waaaayyy better in 3D/real life.

Your ST has a mean stance. I'm sure you like driving it around even more now. If only the 1st gens came with the V8...
