What type of Palm Pilot/PDA should I get?

I unfortunately want to enter the gimmick world and purchase a palm pilot or other brand. For my business I use about 3 different excel programs that I manually scribble down on paper then supposivly update the PC about once a month, but that never happens. I really like the ones that use windows since that is what I'm familiar with. I did see a Nokia cell phone model 9290 that was like $750(a lil pricy, but it is a new phone too) with a personal planner. What other brands are good, I've seen some HP's and Compaq's that are reasonably priced, also any place on the net that one can buy them for cheap?
Thanks

I currently have a Handspring Deluxe w/ Palm OS but will be getting a Compaq iPaq soon. It's pricey but the color and expandability will be well worth it. I believe it comes with pocket word and excel that syncs to your desktop computer's documents.

If you want the basics, get the Handspring Visor. It's much or expandable than Palm but uses the same basic OS. You can even get the phone expansion that works with the Sprint PCS system.
They also have a new one that is a phone with the PDA built in.

well, i got a palm 7 from like a year ago with wireless internet and its pretty good for what i use it for. compaq's are supposed to be good, but if i was buying a new one, id get a palm, only because its the mainstream company. its kinda like when someone buys their first computer, the smart move is a pc, not a mac, though you can do most of the stuff a pc does on a mac, its just not the best decision, for obvious reasons (*puts on flame suit to protect from mac users*)

If you want a Pocket PC PDA then the Compaq iPaq is probably your best bet!

I purchased a Palm 3c first, but then bought an HP Jornado 548. I really like the integration of Windows CE and the Desktop. It allows me to save all of my contact and calendar info on my pc and then the pc updates the PDA everytime I dock it. I have been very happy with it, but I will be purchasing the COMPAQ Ipaq during the summer to give it a try.
