Im planing on making a heat sheild, playing with my intake this weekend. For my KKM ive taken out the whole old filter box so i have plenty of room. My question is what materials should i look for that i can get at my local home depot? i was planning on sectioning off basically the whole passenger side of the engine compartment, and running tubes up from the bumper to get some cooler air flowin in there. Secondly is there a tape or some wrap i can use on the intake tube to insualte? If so whats it called and can i get it at home dopot? thnx

home depot might have "cool tape" but when i went to lowes and asked for something like "cool tape" they looked at me like i was stupid.

how to make a heat shield, some things you might consider are using a plastic flower pot and cutting a hole in the bottom

maybe buying something that resembles a starter heat shield, i am not sure my dad gave me this idea, says you can buy a square peice of heat treated metal from car places for about 6-10 bucks

for cooler under hood temps, you could go to summitracing.com and order some hedder wrap, its made to wrap your exaust system to drop the under hood temps, drag racers have been doing this for years to get the extra edge of cooler intake air :)
