Rear handle rattle

I have a 12 in the back of my truck and the outside rattles like it's nobody's business. I hold the handle on the outside and the rattle subsides. I had read about a rubber washer trick somewhere, but I haven't found a thread about it.

I've read all about putting foam and dynamat in the rear hatch, but I don't need to as there are no rattles inside that bother me. I just would like to know if anyone has heard of this rubber washer trick and if so explain how it is installed if they have done it.

Thanks,

Dave

I posted about the rubber washer trick, it is what I came up with to stop the rattles... It really is as easy as it sounds. I found a large washer lying around the house that fit well between two exterior pieces of the handle in that crack that separates them. Put it on, and the rattles are gone! I would imagine you could find a similar washer at Home Depot/Lowes/Ace/Whatever Hardware Store is around you.

Ray you have one hell of a commute...

How did you get the handle off is where I am having the difficulty. Is it difficult to get that handle off? Where does it unbolt from?

Thanks,

Dave

Oh no... You do not take it off. Just stretch the washer over the handle and get it into the gap between the two pieces. You will need a washer with a fairly large internal diameter
