sound upgrade

Hey guys what's up! I'm basically a newbie when it comes to sound and i was interesting in adding better sound to my truck. Will i get better sound by just upgrading speakers and adding tweeters? I know most of you guys all put the amps in the back which fits good but i would like to keep my back clear. Is their any other option? What about small amps? I don't want monster sound just better sound then stock and maybe some more bass. Any suggestions on brands/parts will be appreciated.

First thing to do is a new head unit, almost any aftermarket unit is better then stock, Pioneer, Alpine and Kenwood make good units, Personally I'm very happy with my Pioneer DEH 330.
Next would be new speakers, Pioneer 6x8's sound good and alot of people on the board have them.
For some bass look at the MTX thunderform, it fits into the rear cargo pocket so you lose no cargo space.

you can put amps under the seats, or behind the back interior panels. or mount them behind the back seats, you will lose minimal cargo space with this.

The thunderform is nice but alot of money for the amp/subwoofer combo like 400! I'm seeing the parts separate for a lot less money.

There is also a clarion similar to the thunderform. It is a powered 10" that goes in the rear cargo space. It's not that expensive right now in some places. Also I just went to a high end audio store and the JL similar to the thunderform is over 500 and it isn't powered. It's made from a fiberglass form

buy a factory JBL/Ford subwoofer unit used off some dude online for like <100 bucks and use the included sub amplifier to power your choice of aftermarket 8" sub. I have an 8" bazooka (300 w) that cost me less than a hundred and the sound is fantastic. As far as the enclosure goes, you can't do any better on being stealth!
