0 gauge install pics - Ford Explorer Ranger Enthusiasts "Serious Explorations"®

Ill do a slight explaination and took many pictures for everyone.

I believe I bought 20 feet and left it in one piece (at this point). I placed the wire in the front seat, removed the yellow grommet (see pic 3)and ran the wiring into the engine bay ( please be sure to have the car OFF). I grabbed the wire and connected it to the the 0 gauge screw terminal ring. After taking off the orginal screw and slightly modifing the stock terminal connector and the terminal ring fit nice and tight.

I then ran the wire as showin the picture to the top of the plastic wheel gaurd. As you can see the 0 gauge is fitted into a stock clip that didnt have a wire of anykind through it, this holds its in place so it doesnt touch engine (pic 2). The wire is then cut and screwed down into the fuse holder. The ANL style fuse holder was then mounted to the plastic wheel cover. Please not that the fuse not installed at this point. (I will later explain how to install the fuse)

Now that that is all set and done now into the car. The wire is then ran thru the firewall and behind the kickpanel and under the trim (I left the grommet aside and dynomatted the hole. I left it without the dynamat for a while but the fridged air and the engine noise became unbearable)( I pulled the wire out slightly so that you can see it.

The wire is then ran underneath the side floor trims ( as you can see it slightly raised because of the thickness of the wire. The door still functions fine and the trim doesnt interfere with anything.

Now the hardest part of the install gettin the 0 gauge wire underneath the seatbelt trim.. I use brute force and jammed it up in there and then ran it under the passenger trim and under the seat and into the amp.

Here is just a pic of my ground In order to use the terminal ring I had to raise it off the ground... This doesnt move at all and have had no problems with this ground.

This is how I kept the ground as short as possible and so that it wouldnt interfer with the seats folding down.

Now to install the fuse. Since the location of the fuse holder is buy tons of metal and other objects which i presume ground you, touching the distro block with the fuse in hand and the surround metal makes you feel the power flow through you (i guess this is the easiest way to explain it.... Slightly gettin juiced). What I do is disconnect the positive wire from the ring since its just a screw down its very easy to remove and put back... Pop the cover off the fuse block and install the fuse. Put the top back reconnect the wire to the terminal ring and thats is. I opted to do this for many reasons. the main reason is to keep people from messing with my equipment (which has happened before)
during service. At the time i also couldnt figure out how to secure the block and have good placement of the wire so that it wouldnt interfer with anything.
