new cd player, change gain settings on amp?
hey guys just got a new panasonic cd player its the "ghost" one, its pretty phat. anyways its a huge upgrade from my old pioneer 1400 series. The new cd player has 5volt RCA preamp outputs, and i was wondering if i should adjust the settings on my external amplifers to account for this....isn't the gain settings just for boosting low signals from older cd players?
give me your input thanks ryan __________________ 04 civic owner getting 37 mpg Former owner of 2 xplorers |

Yep, you need to adjust the gain.
Turn the gain all the way down. Turn your stereo all the way up, or until you get distortion from your door speakers. Then turn the gain up on the amp until you hear some distortion. Back the gain off just a bit and you should be good to go. __________________ ~ My Mugshot1997 XLT and 2006 Limited Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try. ~ Jedi Master Yoda |
