Hello again everybody! Well I bought Pinnacle Studio with the firewire card and DV cable, worked great till I learned too much. Don't buy this product. I reseached the probs I have been having on their site and so many others are having the same thing. Copying down the video over USB works great, but for those nice high quality videos over the firewire it puts the audio in slow mo after a few minutes. Their answer, just take your video in 5 minute spurts and put them together. F that. Not with a 1 hour christmas video! 2nd prob.... transitions, you know fading between sceenes and such. When you go to make the video as an mpeg or whatever it will lock up at the transitions.

So I switched. Trying Borderboud Movie something or other now.. don't like th interface as much but it seems to work better, might try Dazzle, would love to try Adobe Premier but the price isn't right.

So just venting and a warning for you all!

I have Premiere 6.5 and it is awesome. I haven't really messed around with it for a while.. but it does have a 'save for web' feature which is coool.

I've heard you can get it from file sharing programs (if you're into that kind of thing). Have you downloaded the trial version of it from Adobe?

Actualling downloading the trial version now. Gonna check the school bookstore when I go to get my books this week and see if they have it at student pricing.

i've tried Pinnacle before and got rid of it after the first time using it. Exploder99 - best of luck with your career! I've been producing/editing video for corporate and broadcast clients for about 8 years and still enjoy it. If you're planning to go out on your own (freelance/start your own company), this business can be feast or famine. Still, I couldn't imagine doing anything else - I love the work!

There's always something new to learn (full-blown DVD authoring is my latest task) and this business has allowed me to see/experience things I never would have otherwise. I notice you're thinking of going to "Avid Film Camp," that's great! Just please don't become yet another Avid snob! You'll learn quickly (if you haven't already) that this business is 25% tools, 25% talent and 50% dealing with difficult clients!

Feel free to contact me anytime if you ever want to shoot the s**t... My AOL Instant Messenger and e-mail addresses are in my profile.
