TrailReady makes a killer rear bumper for the Heep Liberty, too bad they can't make it for us cause that rear bumper is the sh!t!!

I already tried to get them to make it for the X, but they said- not happening anytime soon.

Looks like I'm going KMA configured as an air tank with a tire carrier.

Thanks for posting the photos of the CRL one. I like the tube look (not too mention how good it looks on that Ex) but I think the solid metal goes with some body lines better. I still have fitment issues to look at.... guess I'll keep dreaming and sketching

Ok, here's the last batch.

This is the finished bumper, I just have to figure out something to protect the Fairlead Rollers...I'm figuring some type of rubber block on each side, well that or an SAS- that'd put it up out of harms way!

The SRB fogs- S#CK! I'm gonna ditch them for some PIAAs.

And no chuckles about the lights! It's my fetish and I'm gonna feed it!

I have to admit it does look nice.

Nice ?...
it looks outstanding !!
maybe sometime next week I can get a closer look at the underside of the integrated skid plate !
by the look from your pic,I don't think I would be able to get at my remote oil filters
I really need to see it up close to be able to tell.

Really well done,I like it allot.

No problem...send me an email and I'll respond with my cell number.

I gotta tell you there's quite a bit of room up under there even though the guy that did the welding put some huge plates right on the front of the existing frame mounts, but there is a lot of space.

I'm kinda glad they welded it the way they did- it gave me ideas for my SAS that's going to be happening over the next couple of weeks.

cdsl227 - you need an alignment! and some muds and that would look so tight! love the bumper! how much was it?

(thread was to long to read all of it)

Total with shipping, winch, 5" PIAAs for the inset area in the front, shackles, plate relocation kit, and customizing for the 3" body lift was $2,200. A bit pricey, but I gotta tell you this though- it's solid as a rock...

To tell you the truth it had an alignment not too long ago and it drives perfectly straight...tires wear evenly also.

That thing always looked funny to me since it was new, it all depends on if the wheels are turned. It gets that funny look to the front end.

I'm going to cure that permanently with an SAS.

So I'm not even sweating it anymore. I used to worry about that, but thanks to all the guys that did SFA swaps- I'm fiending again!

cdsl227 - so how's the bumper holding up? I've been searching the threads 'cause I'm in the market for one and saw yours. Looks great!

A couple of questions :

1) Although I don't have a lift installed now I probably will in the future. Do I have to wait until I do the lift before ordering the TrailReady?

2) I read where your install wasn't exactly a bolt-on - that you had to have some plates welded. Are these supposed to be a bolt-on? How much of a pain was it to get the bumper completely installed?

Let me know when you can. Many thanks.

If you're doing a body lift you'll have to wait until you decide 2" or 3"- the bumper is custom made to accomodate the body lift.

The bumpers are actually a straight bolt on for the Ranger- I'm figuring their mounts are straight whereas ours are offset- I had some steel plates welded to the front of the frame rails right on the ends where the original mounts are...then punched holes in the plates and bolted up to them. The install is easy if you or someone you know welds.

I'm doing an SAS in about...oh, a month...I keep stalling for more time (money gets funny here and there), but I'm getting the last components of the SAS together...

When I do the SAS I'm going to cut out what was welded there and fabricate something that will push the bumper forward an extra inch since I'm going to be fabricating something to mount spring hangers.

The bumper has held up GREAT- I rearended a Pathfinder (he slammed his brakes, why I don't know), gave him a little twist on his bumper- not even a scratch on mine.

People back into it ALL THE TIME and I do mean ALL THE TIME- I saw one bozo smash his trunk in on the Fairlead Rollers for the winch- needless to say- not a scratch on mine.

It IS ROCK SOLID- I have to say I'm fully impressed with the bumper- best purchase I've made so far.

Thanks for the info. cdsl227! So I guess if I plan on the Skyjacker 5" lift in the future I had better wait until I get that installed right? The usual story - so much I want to do, not enough funds to do it all at once.

What's an SAS? I've seen the acronym but not the definition.

Thanks again cdsl227 - I really appreciate your input.

Glad to hear it's holding up nicely... it does look like it can take the abuse L.A. or NY parking has to offer

SAS: is short for Solid Axle Swap, see also SOA or Spring over axle...

A suspension lift has no bearing on the design of the bumper.

ONLY if you are doing a Body Lift will the bumper have to be made custom to take into account the distance the body is raised from the frame. A suspension lift doesn't change the configuration of the body to frame.

If you're only doing a Suspension Lift- then go right ahead and get one.

They build them fully configurable to what you want- one integrated set of fogs, two sets...no rail on top...pretty much any way you want it.

CRL Customs (CoryL is his username on this site) makes some real nice Tube Bumpers...you might want to take a look at those also...he has reasonable pricing too...

JoshC has a nice one on his truck...
