Indash AM/FM Cass CD Changer Turns off & on by itself

radio turns itself off & on, even when the vol/on/off knob is in the off position (ie., pressed in). rotating the knob a bit will turn it off.

unit has an integral volume/on/off switch. - seems like the off/on part of the vol/switch unit is intermittent

took the radio apart, and the vol/switch unit comes out by itself, and has a ford part number. the part number is
F5VF-18B914-BD
(part is manufactured by Bourns)

problem is, ford doesn't sell parts for radios, and the only "servicing" available is to have the thing rebuiilt.

anybody know where i can get a replacement vol/switch unit, or maybe a scrapped in-dash unit with a working vol/switch?

thanks
guyc
