5.0 swap in 93 limited

what i dont understand is why does it seem that every one who has completed this swap had to wire the mustang and the explorer harness together??? why wouldnt you just use the factory 5.0 harness and completely take out the 4.0?? there obd 1 , theres no reason that it shouldnt be a direct swap, who has done this and what exactly did you "splice" together???? anyway my project starts in less than 2 months!! got almost everything i need , except for the radiator and automatic computer for the 5.0, i got it out of a manual car, anyone got one for sale????
