Amps on a budget????

Hello all.

I just brought me a third explorer cash price for only $1,400 3 days ago. It has 136,040 o. miles on it. Its a 93 and sounds so sweet. But I had to get a brake job, oil change, new plugs-n-wires, line up, balance * rotate and a tank full of gas. So far its driving great. But I did all of these in 1 day flat. So im a lil low on cash right now.

But as all cars, I want to put some sounds in it. I had an extra deck that I have already installed. Also I had 2 extra 12inch subs, they are Sony's *hides incase some one gets mad and swings at me* I know I know, people say sony aint so great. But now at the moment when Im low on cash and want something, Sony is wonderful.

But I aint got no extra Amp. So what would be a good amp on Budget. i say for the time being under $250.00

Incase you need it, here is a lil something bout th Subs I had hidden back.

Sony XPlod XS-L1235
max input: 800 watts each
Rated input: 200 watts each
Impedance: 4 ohms
Sensitivity: 89db/W/m
Freq: 20-2,500 Hz
Mass: Approx. 5.3kg(11 liv. 11 on.) per hault- parleur

Try one of these amps - A Rockford Fosgate 501BD, 500 watts @ 2 ohms or a MTX 421D, 420 watts @ 2 omhs, both are from good companies and will actually put out more power then listed.
I've found the RF for $273 and the MTX for $200 at etronics, take their price then go over to Sounddomain.com and use the price match feature.

You could also do a JBL 600.1 for fairly cheap too... Just search the net... They're just over $200 I think.... I have the 1200.1 and it was like $280 with shipping...

RF amps are garbage... when running at 2ohms they get so hot you could seriously cook eggs on em.

If I were you I'd look into something by Clarion... if you can pick up the 1000W monoblock for ~300 on Ebay that would be a great deal. It can do 1000W stable @ 1 ohm RMS (it's the clone of the ARC Audio amp).

Ya steer clear of rockford. Look into JBL or Cadance.

I don't know squat about the new rockford stuff... But you can't talk shit about the old stuff from like 93... The Punch 75HD that I had kicked some serious ass... I used to push two 10's hard with that thing...

Both brands are good budget amps without buying crap.

the cheapest amps on the net will be found at www.carstereo.com they don't sell themselves, they just give you everyones prices from the web you can imagine, cheaper than sounddomain and cruthcfield.

do a search for "zed audio price list" on elitecaraudio.com....zed sells extremely inexpensive refurb us acoustic amps that he designed himself...the ones he sells are of better quality than the new us acoustics that are made in korea....he even gives you a warranty...

i bought a usx 1000f....1000 watt amp for $200....i think the 600f goes for $130 and the 800f goes for $158....check them out, everyone thats bought from him will vouch for him too....peace

I got a legacy amp off ebay a while back. It was 800 watts and it pushed two 12" pioneers with no problems. For 80 bucks it was well worth it.
