Yesterday I serviced my Auto Trans. Pulled the pan and replaced the filter.......................
When I was done, I noticed two small o-rings in the replacement filter box. "ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH", but the vehicle drove fine. This AM, the tran slips. Is the bad seal between the filter enough to cause this issue? |

Yes
You are sucking air into the system which lowers pressure. This can cause slipping. Others have also experienced this problem when updated filters are used that requires a shorter filter mounting screws and the filter drops down after a hundred miles.

When you use the correct parts, things turn out better.
I have now replaced the filter and fluid in my automatic transmission twice. But the good part is that it is working perfectly. Thanks for your help. |
