I had a Pioneer with the factory speakers(till someone stole it) and it sounded fine, even hooked up thru the factory amp. Now i've got a 180 watt JVC, running thru the factory amp, along with the factory spkrs. Not a great combo, but it works for now. So far, only one speaker is gone.I think those spkrs are low level JBL's.

i have the pioneer deh-p9300, its not a mistype its the same thing as the p9400 but without the mp3 option. It came out a few years ago and my friend had it in his explorer when he flipped it i bought it from him and put it in my x. i have an xlt with premium sound. the head unit makes a crap load of difference in sound quality but the speakers suck i want to put a complete pioneer system later on but now i want to put pioneer speakers in the doors. anything will sound better than the stock speakers. but good luck with your setup

I have an Alpine 7894 which sounds ok through the stock speakers, but i need to look into new ones. Another problem of mine is that my front drivers side speaker only works when it is hot out (even with the stock HU)

Yeah Need For Speed Underground is suppose to be a very good game. What size speakers are in the 1st gen x. someone told me they were 6x9s but i saw somewhere they were 6x8s. i havent had time to look at them so if someone could tell me it would help and what kind of pioneer speakers are good but not too expensive. i have the pioneer deh-p9300 head unit and want to put some pioneer speakers in it.

Not pioneer speakers but...look here they sound great - need low power ( all I ever had on them was a 25w per channel RMS a/d/s amp. Sounded better than all of the other speakers in their class ($150 and under) not as bright as boston acoustics a tight , natural sound.
