91 XLT 4x4, grinding in front end

i got a 91 explorer 4x4 xlt 4 door with all the auto 4x4 push button auto hubs, when 4x4 is engaged and under a load it seems as though the front end is popping out and grinding, please help, i cant identify the problem!!

thanx, would it be the locking mechanisn or the whole hubs, cause they are being converted to manual locking next week.

Its just the hubs.They are a weak spot on the first gen explorers Manual is the way to go

so if i convert it to manual and relace the hubs it should be fine, i wont need to go into all the gears and shit behind the hubs, thanks alot buddy

When you buy the manuel hubs make sure you get the conversion kit.Go to the for sale section there should be a few sets on there for sale
